This release is a commemoration of the XXV Olympiad held in Barcelona, Spain in 1992. The design by Margaret Priest is a tribute to the spirit of competition, fair play and togetherness that symbolizes the modern Olympics.

The $1 Sterling Silver Proof Coin is a intricately frosted Female Javelin Thrower against a mirror-finish background and will create a stunning addition to any collection and is only the second time a female has appeared on the reverse of an Australian Decimal Coin. On the obverse of the coin appears the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, by Raphael Maklouf.
The Coin Fair version has Continuous Reeding and a specially marked and shaped box.
